Amphibious Land-crabs
Land crabs spend almost all of their time out of water, and are therefore best suited in an aqua-terrarium tank furnished with rocks and roots. The tank should be quite large if a number of specimens are to be kept. They will also need good hiding places after moulting, as their carapace takes a while to harden.
They are omnivorous but primarily eat vegetable foods. They will readily hand feed once settled, and can become quite tame. Feed on fruit, vegetables, small fish, lean meats, cockles and other commercially available frozen foods. Also part of the sand should be covered with fresh, preferably fruit tree, leaves These will act as a place for food, and a place for them to deposit their excrement (making it easier to remove).
These animals are very sensitive to decomposing matter, so any left over food, and waste in the tank needs to be removed quite quickly.
Land-crabs reproduce using the Primitive method of Breeding.
